Abstract
A study of Mean Sea Level (MSL) determination in the Aegean Sea is carried out. First, MSL values have been computed at a number of tide gauge station s. Then, Sea Surface Heights (SSHs) have been determined based on GEOSAT al timeter data of Geodetic Mission (GM). The computed SSHs were fitted to the tide gauge MSL values using a 4-parameters model. The best fitting agreeme nt reached the level of 5cm, when GPM98A geopotential model was used as a r eference surface. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
