The pionic decay of a possible dibaryon, d' --> pi NN, is studied in the mo
del assuming the production of P-3(0) quark-antiquark pairs and in other mo
dels of effective quark-pion coupling. The vertex constants acid the form f
actors for pion-baryon and pion-dibaryon couplings are calculated. The effe
ct of the internal pion structure on decay widths is investigated. It is sh
own that the quark structure of the nucleon-nucleon wave function in the ov
erlap region plays an important role in dibaryon decays, and known models o
f nucleon-nucleon interaction are analyzed with allowance for this circumst
ance. The decay width of a dibaryon is estimated as a function of its effec
