In recent years, double liners have gained widespread application in inerti
al confinement fusion. When the outer shell, accelerated by a high current,
collides with the inner liner, the conditions for irradiating nuclear-fusi
on targets can be created in the inner cavity of the latter (the so-called
dynamic hohlraum). In this situation, the question of whether the azimuthal
magnetic flux can penetrate the outer-liner plasma before the liners colli
de is of great importance. In experiments described in this study, the pene
tration of the magnetic nux into the gap between the liners during the impl
osion of the outer shell was recorded by the presence of the current in a c
ylindrical shunt mounted in place of the inner liner. The theoretical conce
pt of a double liner is verified experimentally: it is shown that the magne
tic flux does not penetrate into the inner region before the collision. Exp
eriments were carried out in the Angara-5-1 facility.
