Abstract
The enthalpies of solution of 4-ethyl-3,3',5,5'-tetramethyl, 3,3',4,4',5,5' -hexamethyl-, and 4,4'-diethyl-3,3',5,5'-tetramethyldipyrrolylmethene hydro bromides and the corresponding bases and Cu and Zn complexes in various org anic solvents were determined calorimetrically. The solvation properties of these compounds, as influenced by their structure and the nature of the so lvent, were discussed on the basis of the enthalpy and spectroscopic charac teristics.
