Abstract
SmI2 has been found to catalyze a reaction of cyclotrimerization of nitrile s in the presence of amine as cocatalyst to give 2,4,6-trisubstituted-s-tri azines effectively under mild reaction conditions. The yield depends on the structure of nitriles.
