Abstract
The natural product and potent agonist of the D-myo-inositol 1,4,5-trisphos phate receptor, adenophostin A, was synthesised from adenosine and D-glucos e using efficient methodology. The synthetic material was equipotent with n aturally occurring adenophostin A in evoking Ca2+ release from the intracel lular stores of permeabilised cells. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
