Dynamic translinear circuits and log-domain filters form a promising and ch
allenging approach to meet the dynamic range limitations that conventional
analog implementation techniques are facing due to ever lower supply voltag
es, low power consumption and high-frequency demands. This paper aims to gi
ve an overview of this young, yet rapidly developing, circuit paradigm. Emp
hasis is placed on methods for analysis and synthesis and on state-of-the-a
rt results obtained for both linear and non-linear applications.
