Abstract
New fossils from the ?uppermost Carboniferous - Lower Permian have been fou nd at Buxieres-les-Mines (Massif central, France). in this preliminary arti cle we report on algae, stromatolites, palynomorphs, macroflora, ostracods, insects, elasmobranchs, acanthodians, actinopterygians and amphibians. Ela smobranchs and amphibians are diversified compared with those of other Euro pean localities. Most taxa indicate deposits and an Asselian age, and permi t us to adress the question of the palaeoecosystem evolution of the Bourbon -l'Archambualt Basin, during the Lower Permian.
