Abstract
Nimonol was obtained from the fresh green whole leaves of Azadirachta indica and its structure has been reassigned on the basis of COSY, NOE SY and H-1 NMR spectral data. 6-Acetylnimonol was identified as 6-acet oxyazadirone and dihydronimonol was shown to be identical to isomelden in. The mp and H-1 NMR spectra of 6-acetylnimocinol were markedly diff erent from those of 6-acetoxyazadirone showing that nimocinol and nimo nol have different structures. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
