Clinical information technology in gynecological oncology

Information technologies have been integrated in gynecological oncology tre atment and,therefore, new software has been established in hospitals and pr ivate clinics. A German law for hospital tumor registration has attempted t o unify the different strategies. All intentions to establish new documenta tion systems for tumor diseases need a standardized basic data set. Neverth eless, local governmental health organizations are not yet prepared to impl ement a global information system such as prenatal and perinatal care datab ases. Financial support and political work is therefore needed.
