Ga. Skorobogatov et Be. Dzevitskii, COLLECTIVE POLYNUCLEAR SUPERRADIANCE RATHER THAN STIMULATED-EMISSION OF MOSSBAUER RADIATION FROM TE-125M2 AND TE-123M2, Hyperfine interactions, 107(1-4), 1997, pp. 401-411
Acts attributed to single-particle stimulated emission, Te-125m2(gamma
,2 gamma)Te-125m1, had been observed previously in a (BeTe)-Te-125m2 s
ample as a variation of the line intensity at E-gamma = 109.27 keV and
by the appearance of a line of double energy at E-2 gamma = 218.54 ke
V. This effect occurred when the sample temperature, T was lowered fro
m 300 to 4 K. In the present work, the first observation is reported o
f stimulated emission events in the reaction Te-123m2(gamma,2 gamma)Te
-123m1 which were registered from a (Mg3TeO6)-Te-123m2 sample when coo
led in a similar fashion. It is shown here that the mechanism of these
experimentally observed events is polynuclear superradiance rather th
an a single-particle stimulated emission of Mossbauer radiation as ear
lier suggested.
