Abstract
The vertical impact of a rigid elliptical cylinder on a compressible liquid surface is considered in a plane asymmetric formulation. Solution of the b oundary problem reduces to solving an infinite system of linear Volterra in tegral equations of the second kind. The results are analyzed in terms of t he initial asymmetry angle.
