Abstract
Single crystals of K5LaLi2F10 type containing Pr3+, Nd3+ and Er3+ ions were obtained by the Bridgman method. The crystallographic structure of this st oichiometric compound (orthorhombic, space group Pnma) was confirmed by an X-ny diffraction analysis. Preliminary measurements of optical properties o f Pr3+, Nd3+ and Er3+ ions such as absorption spectra, luminescence spectra and lifetimes of main luminescent levels were done. The positions of perti nent energy levels were determined from the low temperature absorption and luminescence spectra. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science S.A. All right s reserved.
