Single crystals of K5LaLi2F10 type containing Pr3+, Nd3+ and Er3+ ions were
obtained by the Bridgman method. The crystallographic structure of this st
oichiometric compound (orthorhombic, space group Pnma) was confirmed by an
X-ny diffraction analysis. Preliminary measurements of optical properties o
f Pr3+, Nd3+ and Er3+ ions such as absorption spectra, luminescence spectra
and lifetimes of main luminescent levels were done. The positions of perti
nent energy levels were determined from the low temperature absorption and
