Abstract
Starting from L-fucose, D-galactose and 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-galactose, methyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-beta-D-galactopyranosyl-(1-->4)-alpha-D-galactopyranos ide and methyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-beta-D-galactopyranosyl-( 1 --> 6)-[alph a-L-fucopyranosyl-(1-->2)]-beta-D-galactopyranoside, which are related to t he repeating unit of E. coli O128, have been synthesized using NIS and TfOH as promoter.
