Abstract
An investigation of cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), ni ckel (Ni), lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) accumulation was carried out in the bent hic macro-invertebrates and in some selected species of Western Yamuna Cana l (WYC) from January 1997 to September 1997 at various stations. The levels of these 7 heavy metals were found to vary from NT (Non-traceable) to 18.0 , NT to 74.0, NT to 74.0, NT to 4270.0, NT to 100.0, NT to 39.0 and NT to 4 00 mu g/g dw respectively.
