The yrast band in Ta-166 at high-spin states is established for the fi
rst time through the Pr-141(Si-28,3n)Ta-166 reaction at a beam energy
of 127 MeV. Excitation function, residual radioactivity, and x-gamma,
gamma-gamma coincidences were measured. Signature inversion features o
f Ta-166 and neighbouring isotones are discussed.
