Abstract
It is shown by small angle neutron scattering and freeze-fracture electron microscopy that sulfonium surfactants with a single surfactant tail form bi layer vesicles of narrow size distribution. This exceptional behavior is at tributed to an unusually small area requirement of the polar headgroup due to the high polarizability of the sulfonium cation.
