Abstract
A new Mg/Ln hydrotalcite-like compound (HTlc) of composition [Mg0.75In0.25( OH)(2)](CO3)(0.125). 0.53H(2)O was obtained by coprecipitation method at pH 10. The resulting hydroxide was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analy sis (TGA). Its structure is consistent with a brucite-like structure. Calci nation at 500 degrees C of this HTlc led to a mixture of periclase MgO and amorphous In2O3. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
