The resistivity behaviour of high porosity nickel foam as a function of por
osity has been investigated experimentally. The results were compared with
a number of empirical and theoretical models. It was found that a new model
based on structural properties gave the closest fit to the experimental da
ta. This provides a convenient means of controlling the resistivity of poro
us metals in production and thus enables manufacture of better porous elect
rodes. MST/4371. (C) 2000 IoM Communications Ltd.
