Abstract
Objective - Enterocytozoon beineusi is a major cause of chronic diarrhea an d malabsorption in patients with AIDS. The epidemiology of this parasite is still obscure. Material and method- The authors carried out a PCR and sequencing comparati ve study of 12 stools from six patients. Results - The authors found a predominance of genotype B (5/6) and an unkno wn genotype (1/6) respectively, corresponding to type I and type IV. A retr ospective study over a period of one or two years, concerning three patient s, confirmed that they still carried the same strain. (C) 2000 Editions sci entifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
