Abstract
The protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii has a very specialized secretory a pparatus. In this review we will discuss ho iv different methodological app roaches, including morphological studies, biochemistry and genetics, are re vealing a novel secretory organization, whose function is performed, mainly , by a highly conserved protein machinery found in mammalian cells.
