Abstract
A 14-year-old Korean boy was admitted with cough, hemoptysis, and fever. A chest X-ray showed a solitary pulmonary mass and pneumonitis. Bronchial bio psy by fiberoptic bronchoscopy revealed a poorly differentiated small cell carcinoma. All of the staging information indicated that the patient had li mited disease. During the 7 months following diagnosis, he received adjuvan t chemotherapy in conjunction with radiotherapy. The size of the lesion was reduced by almost 50%. Small cell bronchogenic carcinoma has not been repo rted previously in childhood. (C) 2000 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
