Abstract
Medium strength AW7XXX aluminium alloys are widely used as welded structure s and in transportation. The applications of these alloys are limited by th e behavior of the welded joints. There is not an agreement on the joint geo metry that must he used on the 5 mm aluminium welds. The microhardness evol ution is one of the most important strength indicator. For this reason, the aim of this work is to study the welded joint geometry influence on microh ardness profile and on microstructure of a welded aluminium alloy AW7020 MI G, filled with AW5356.
