Abstract
Intestinal anthrax is rare and rapidly fatal. To date, 11 sporadic cas es have been reported(1). Two patients survived but the other cases we re fatal. In addition, an epidemic including 18 cases of cutaneous ant hrax and seven of intestinal anthrax was reported from India(2). The p resent case is the first of intestinal anthrax where surgery was perfo rmed and the patient survived.
