Abstract
Despite the fact that complicated extrasphincteric anal fistulas have been recognized and treated for many years, there is still a lack of c onsensus among colorectal surgeons as to the optimum surgical approach . We have devised a modification of the seton technique, which we used in 23 patients without complications or recurrence.
