Atmospheric precipitation contains considerable amounts of various tox
icants due to pollution. The mechanism of the neutralization of acidif
ied and contaminated precipitations was studied by means of physicoche
mical simulation of a water-rock system. Variable rock mineralogy and
variable (with respect to CO2 and O-2) composition of infiltering wate
r under the conditions of an open and a closed system were included in
to the simulation.
