This paper describes the results of a semi-controlled experiment condu
cted to obtain experimental verification of the results of a computer
model designed to analyze the propagation of high frequency carrier si
gnals on operating three phase power distribution feeders. The paper d
escribes the set experiments conducted on an operating feeder and the
apparatus used to evaluate the propagation of signals over the range o
f 5 kHz to 50 kHz. Results of the set of experiments are presented and
compared with the results of the analysis using the computer model. T
he comparison provides an understanding of the applicability of the co
mputer model to carrier, noise, and harmonic propagation on power dist
ribution feeders.
