Abstract
Protocols are described for control of the electroosmotic flow in microfabr icated channels in Vivak copolyester. Alkaline hydrolysis of surface ioniza ble groups alone or such hydrolysis in combination with dynamic coating wit h cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) is shown to provide reproducible el ectroosmotic flows. Dynamic coating with CTAB can be used to eliminate elec troosmosis or to reverse its direction, depending on the concentration empl oyed.
