Abstract
Construction and operation of horizontal wells in the domestic oil ind
ustry has been inadequate so far. Improvement of their performance wil
l require the introduction of innovative technologies such as seismic
acoustic radiography, to optimise hole path. Dedicated MWD systems wou
ld be essential for optimisation of drilling bit path in horizontal we
ll sections while penetrating pay horizons.
