Abstract
The hospitalization of a chronically ill child requires meticulous orc hestration. Treatment recommendations must be transmitted to the famil y in a coherent and supportive fashion. Patient comfort and nutrition must be maintained, and psychological support provided. Discharge plan ning is often extensive. To promote continuity of care, appointment of a case manager is recommended.
