Active species injection or radical shower technique in flue gas denitrific
ation is simulated with a continuous-flow stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) model
. The kinetic equations can be established with this simulation and solved
with a computer program. Main fundamental reactions have been picked out fr
om the results of the simulation of every active species injection system.
The kinetic equations of OH, O-3, N, NH, NH2 injection and NTP-activated NH
3 are solved and NO removal fractions as functions of different parameters
are calculated. Practical feasibility of every system is discussed. It is r
ound that the practical feasibility of OH, N, NH and NH, injection and gene
ration is limited by their self-recombination and low obtainable concentrat
ions. O-3, injection can be used to oxidize NO to NO2. (C) 2000 Elsevier Sc
