Partial electron yield spectrum of N-2: doubly excited states at the K-shell threshold

The partial electron yield spectrum of N-2 has been measured at a kinetic e nergy corresponding to the Auger decay of doubly excited core-hole states. The spectrum reveals previously unresolved double excitations just below an d above the K-shell ionization threshold. Their excitation energies and dis sociative nature agree with calculated potential energy curves of the doubl y excited states. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights re served.
