Abstract
Chemical studies on the non polar fraction of the methanolic extract of Pse
udopterogorgia elisabethae Bayer collected from the Florida Keys has yielde
d 12-acetoxypseudopterolide (1), a new diterpene of the pseudopterane serie
s. The structure was established through spectroscopic analysis. Compound (
1) was shown to exhibit modest anti-cancer activity against a human prostat
e cancer cell line (LnCap).
