Lv. Karadzinov et Dc. Hamill, Analysis of the influence of diode reverse recovery on the operation and design of high-frequency rectifiers, IEEE POW E, 15(2), 2000, pp. 386-398
Diode reverse recovery can cause anomalies in high-frequency rectifier oper
ation, including self-sustaining quasiperiodic oscillations. The output vol
tage can increase considerably beyond that predicted by the usual analysis.
This nonlinear effect is analyzed using a recently developed piecewise-lin
ear diode model. The theoretical results agree with experimental measuremen
ts. Design guidelines are presented to avoid overvoltage and instability in
practical converters.
