Abstract
A method for solving the problem of scattering of a plane electromagnetic w ave by a microstrip periodic array made of narrow strips (in comparison wit h the wavelength) of arbitrary form is proposed. The analysis of polarizati on of the reflected field is performed in the case of normal incidence of a plane wave on the array composed of C- and S-shaped strip elements in the vicinity of their lower resonance frequencies. The conditions are establish ed at which the reflected field has the linear polarization orthogonal to t hat of the incident field.
