The process of the radar imaging (in the range-transverse range coordinates
) of an aircraft by the method of the inverse aperture synthesis is studied
for real flight trajectories. The effect of the associated phase fluctuati
ons on the radar image is demonstrated. An analytical expression for resolu
tion is derived. Two techniques for estimating the resolution are considere
d with the help of computer modeling. Potentialities for minimizing distort
ions in the radar images are established.
