Abstract
A new titanium phosphate [H3NC2H4NH2]TiOPO4 has been prepared under solvoth ermal conditions. It crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c wit h cell parameters a = 9.2457(19), b = 7.3465(16), c = 9.929(2) Angstrom, be ta = 100.702(5)degrees, V = 662.7(2) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, M-w = 219.98 g mol (-1), D-c = 2.205 g cm(-3); the final residual factors were R = 0.0337 and R-w = 0.0804. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of infinite zig zag TiO5N octahedra in chains corner-linked by PO4 tetrahedra; the TiO5N oc tahedra are all trans-linked with Ti-O bonds being alternately short and lo ng. The monoprotonated ethylenediamine is intercalated between the layers w ith one end coordinated to Ti. Thermogravimetric analysis implied N-C sciss ion upon calcination.
