Abstract
Several polyfunctional carbonyl compounds, such as alpha- and beta-ketoeste rs, were chemo- and stereoselectively reduced by Mucor rouxii cultures in w ater and in organic solvents. Results show that reductions can be carried o ut in a variety of organic solvents.
