Abstract
The mechanism by which cells recognize misfolded proteins in the endoplasmi c reticulum has been defined at the cell biological level. The enzyme UDP-g lucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase identifies and specifically glucosy lates misfolded domains within a multi-domain protein.
