Effect of replacement of diamagnetic atoms in layered oxides on exchange pa
rameters was examined using the data of magnetic susceptibility of solid so
lutions containing cobalt(III) and nickel(III). The parameter of ferromagne
tic exchange remains constant, and the parameters of antiferromagnetic exch
ange depend on the degree of ionic character of metal-oxygen bonds in the d
iamagnetic sublattices, but they do not change on partial replacement of on
e of diamagnetic atoms.
