Kinetic study of the decomposition of sodium perborate in acetic and triflu
oroacetic acids by various titration procedures allowed evaluation of the d
ecomposition rate constants for two groups of compounds with different type
s of peroxide bonds. Decomposition of sodium perborate in trifluoroacetic a
cid is a First-order reaction, and in the case of acetic acid reaction is c
omplicated by formation of two types of compounds decomposing by different
mechanisms.
