The activity coefficients of nondissociated sulfurous acid species gamma(n)
were determined from the experimental data for the systems NaCl-H2O-SO2 an
d Na2SO3-H2O-SO2 at 298, 323, and 348 K on the basis of the previously reve
aled constancy of the ratio gamma(+/-)(2)/gamma(n) congruent to Q. The simi
lar concentration dependences of the logarithms of the activity coefficient
s ln gamma(n) and ln gamma(+/-) are due to similar properties of the nondis
sociated and ionic species of the electrolyte. The fulfillment of the Setch
enow's rule was checked.
