The effects of N-nitramine groups and the phase state on the rate and mecha
nism of autoprotolytic decomposition of primary di(N-nitramines) were studi
ed. It was suggested that, depending on the structure of the N-nitramine, a
utoprotolytic decomposition in the solution of an inert low-polar solvent m
ay proceed through the formation of a zwitterion arising from the intramole
cular proton transfer.
