The method of capillary waves was employed to study the kinetics of ad
sorption of normal alcohols at the aqueous solution-air interface. Com
parison of the theoretical dependences of the damping coefficient of c
apillary waves on concentration with experimental data indicates the a
bsence of an adsorption barrier for propyl, butyl, amyl, and hexyl alc
ohols.
