Abstract
This Account describes the synthetic and spectroscopic work of the author a nd his collaborators in the chemistry of diporphyrins linked in the meso-po sitions by (i) conjugated alkyne-containing bridges, or (ii) ethane and eth ene bridges, together with associated monoporphyrin transformations.
