Z. Dendzik et al., ON THE UNIVERSAL SCALING OF THE DIELECTRIC-RELAXATION IN DENSE MEDIA, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 9(23), 1997, pp. 339-346
We reconsider the idea of the universal scaling of the alpha relaxatio
n and point out what is the cause of the recent controversy concerning
this concept. A necessary condition the scaling relationship has to f
ollow is presented. Consequently, we suggest that a generalized scalin
g relationship, which is potentially able to account for the dielectri
c relaxation of low-molecular-weight as well as polymeric glass-former
s, is likely to be established. The generalized scaling plot for the l
iterature experimental data of several glass-forming systems (low mole
cular weight and polymeric) is presented.
