Three new genera and six new species of Pyrgodesmidae are described from a
primary terra firme tropical rainforest patch near Manaus, Central Amazonia
of Brazil: Adisella n.gen. with A. circularis n.sp. (the type species) and
A. geniculata n.sp., Docodesmus hirudiformis n.sp., Tauricollarium n.gen.
with T. biramosum n.sp. (the type species) and T. uniramosum n.sp., and Pse
udoporatia n.gen. with P. perplexa n.sp. (the type species only). Myrmecode
smus SILVESTRI, 1910 is considered as a senior subjective synonym of Gonogr
aphis SCHUBART, 1945 (n.syn.), with M. hastata (SCHUBART, 1945), M. adisi (
HOFFMAN, 1985), M. minuscula (GOLOVATCH, 1996), and M. duodecimiobata (GOLO
VATCH, 1996) formally reallocated therein (all n.comb.).
