Ea. Shores et Jr. Carstairs, The Macquarie University Neuropsychological Normative Study (MUNNS): Australian norms for the WAIS-R and WMS-R, AUST PSYCHL, 35(1), 2000, pp. 41-59
This paper reports on the co-norming of the WAIS-R and WMS-R on a stratifie
d random sample of 399 healthy young adults in the age range 18 to 34 years
in Sydney, Australia. These data were collected as part of the Macquarie U
niversity Neuropsychological Normative Study (MUNNS). In deriving the norms
, the influences of age, sex, and education were taken into account, and ta
bles for deriving demographically adjusted scaled scores are provided. Tabl
es for the IQ and memory index scores are provided, with Values for the 90%
and 95% confidence intervals bands around the predicted true scores. The c
onfidence intervals for both test and retest conditions were derived using
standard errors of estimation and prediction. Base-rate tables of both with
in-test and between-test differences are presented, as well as tables for p
redicting memory index scores from the IQ scores. A hypothetical set of dat
a demonstrates the differences in results using the American norms Versus t
he demographically adjusted Australian norms. Finally, a step-by-step examp
le is presented to demonstrate the use of the MUNNS tables.
