Abstract
Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) are a new class of drugs tha t provide a new option for addressing the health challenges of postmenopaus al women. This review discusses the proposed mechanism of action of SERMs a nd describes clinical findings on raloxifene, a SERM now available for trea ting and preventing osteoporosis.
