Abstract
Our understanding of HDL metabolism in vivo has greatly advanced from studi es with transgenic animals, Interactions between HDL apolipoproteins, trans fer proteins, lipolytic enzymes and receptors modulate HDL size, particle n umber and fractional catabolic rate. The protective effect of HDL on athero sclerosis depends on the combined actions of HDL proteins and the metabolis m of apo B-lipoproteins. Curr Opin Lipidol 11:149-153.
